Sensitive Information

Based on Cadmium Zinc Telluride crystal detector technology, the RAD-CZT radiation sensors from RFTrax are designed to meet the needs of a broad array of gamma detection applications, including first responder instrumentation, industrial and medical waste treatment, personal dosimeters and many homeland security applications. Low radiation levels, including normal background, are easily detected by the RAD-CZT’s 0.1 milliREM/hour sensitivity. Unlike scintillator-based detection technologies, which can saturate quickly at higher radiation levels, the RAD-CZT continues to discriminate radiation levels as high as 1.0 REM/hour, providing valuable dose rates even under extreme radiation fields. The sensor can be programmed to provide either a “fault” or “no fault” condition when radiation reaches a predetermined threshold, or it can provide counts-per-minute or dose-rate outputs. The sensor provides many programmable settings for alarm sensitivity and sensor behavior, including alarm trigger level, filtered/unfiltered output, output filter depth and others.
