Masking the Danger

MSA’s Millennium CBRN Gas Mask is the first NIOSH-certified (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) full-face-piece, air-purifying respirator on the market. This new gas mask provides first responders with effective respiratory protection against agents that might be used in a terrorist attack. The mask incorporates a flexible one-piece polyurethane lens with wide field of vision bonded to a durable Hycar rubber face piece. The mask is easy to don, adjust and remove thanks to its fully elastic six-point head harness. Lens fogging is prevented by an internal nose cup, which deflects air from the lens. A standard mechanical speaking diaphragm is included, or MSA’s optional ESP II Communications System may be added. A butyl-coated nylon hood is also available for head protection.
