Hypro recently announced that its FoamPro unit has received a U.S. government patent for a newly developed High-Flow Foam Proportioning system. Designed specifically for industrial firefighting applications, the microprocessor-controlled AccuMax is capable of delivering up to 300 gallons per minute of foam concentrate with unmatched accuracy. The system allows the operator to independently control foam percentages at each discharge. AccuMax is an on-demand, direct-injection system with precise full-flow flowmeters that electronically measure water and foam rates at each discharge. Traditional systems proportion foam concentrate into the firefighting water stream and can be inaccurate and waste foam. AccuMax incorporates microprocessors that continuously receive performance information to control electronically operated valves on each discharge, all supplied by an Edwards rotary gear foam pump.
